In Komi-Permyak the third person singular personal pronoun can be traced back to PFU *sɜ ’he/she’ (Lytkin‒Guljajev 1970: 257‒258, UEW I: 453‒454). The distal demonstrative pronoun has the same form as this personal pronoun (Bartens 2000).
